Moon Over Murano

A lariat in shades of pink and gold glass beads, freshwater pearls, moonstone beads and a Murano pink and white glass pendant with gold foil that looks good enough to eat. It is 27” long.
In 1291, the Republic of Venice ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to the island of Murano because the glassworks represented a fire danger in Venice, whose buildings were mostly wooden at the time. To this day Murano remains the world leader in the hand manufacture of glass beads and glassware. $60
