Luminescence Earrings

These earrings challenge you to find life and light in unusual places. The colors of the beads evoke unusual sources of light such as bioluminescence which is luminescence caused by chemical reactions in living things. It is a cold light produced by living organisms. On land, only a few nocturnal animals, such as fireflies, produce light, but in the ocean, thousands of species do so. Deep-water fish and squid use bioluminescence extensively, but there are many other oceanic light producers.
