Ibiza

Ibiza is an island so powerful it is almost impossible to leave once one has settled into life in a centuries old finca amid the olive and almond groves; wandered in fields of red poppies and changed innumerable flat tires caused by bumping over red dirt roads. It has survived the Phoenicians, Romans/Carthaginians, Moors, pirate attacks, and only time will tell with respect to the latest invasion.

This necklace is a replication of a treasured Venetian glass necklace I found at Ibiza’s first outdoor bazaar (I traded some of my precious African trade beads from Goulamine, Morocco for it). The colors are the aqua shades of secret Ibicencan coves. The aurora borealis finish evokes the amazing intrinsic luminosity one can experience there. Hill Tribe gold clasp, 18” in length. $58
